Lesson for Alankaars (More for Practice)

Hello Guys, I hope you daily vocal riyaaz is going good. In earlier blogs I told you about 3-4 Alankaars and I hope you are practicing them on daily basis, but there are many alankaars that you need to practice. So in this blog I will be sharing some more Alankaars with you guys, so that you can practice them and improve you singing. So I hope you will do their practice as well and I assure you that they will surely improve your singing and you will see the difference after doing their practice. So without wasting any more time, let us get in to this.

Alankaar 1- In this alankaar we will be starting from our root note as we do in every other alankaar. If you do not know what root note is!! see Understanding of Different Octaves and Root note . Now from our root note we will go to next 2 note and we will increase with 1 note and we go to 2 further notes. If it is not clear to you I will elaborate you more. Like in AAROH it will be like - SA RE GA - RE GA MA - GA MA PA and so on. So now you understand the order that is followed will be - 123 - 234 - 345- 456 - 567 - 678 in AAROH and in AVROH it will be like- 876 - 765 - 654 - 543 - 432 - 321. I hope you get it. If you do not know about AAROH AND AVROH see Lessons for Indian Classical Vocal Music . Now I am writing this alankaar for your better understanding.

AAROH -  SA RE GA - RE GA MA - GA MA PA - MA PA DHA - PA DHA NI -  DHA NI SA

AVROH -  SA NI DHA - NI DHA PA - DHA PA MA - PA MA GA - MA GA RE - GA RE SA .

Alankaar 2 - This is similar to the previous alankaar, it is just that with each note we will go to next 3 notes rather than 2 notes. So that will form an order like - 1234 - 2345 - 3456 and so on in AAROH and in AVROH it will be like  8765 - 7654 - 6543 and so on. So Alankaar will be -

AAROH -  SA RE GA MA - RE GA MA PA - GA MA PA DHA - MA PA DHA NI -
                    PA DHA NI SA .

AVROH  - SA NI DHA PA -  NI DHA PA MA - DHA PA MA GA - PA MA GA RE -
                   MA GA RE SA.

Alankaar 3 -  It is also similar to the above alankaars and in this we will increase each note by 4 notes that is the order in AAROH will be like - 12345 - 23456 - 34567 - 45678 and in AVROH it will be like - 87654 - 76543 - 65432 - 54321. So Alankaar will be -

AAROH -  SA RE GA MA PA - RA GA MA PA DHA - GA MA PA DHA NI -
MA PA DHA NI SA  .

AVROH -  SA NI DHA PA MA - NI DHA PA MA GA - DHA PA MA GA RE -
PA MA GA RE SA .

Alankaar 4 - In this we will increase the notes by 5 and we will do this for each note that is - 123456 - 234567 - 345678 in AAROH , and in AVROH - 876543 - 765432 - 654321. So the alankaar we be -

AAROH -  SA RE GA MA PA DHA - RE GA MA PA DHA NI - GA MA PA DHA NI SA.

AVROH -  SA NI DHA PA MA GA - NI DHA PA MA GA RE - DHA PA MA GA RE SA.

So that's it for this lesson. I will tell you about some more alankaars in any other blog. In next blog I will tell you about how to develop bass in your voice. I want to tell you that you can make your own alankaars and I will also post a blog about how to make your own alankaar so stay tuned for that. Thank You and Best of Luck !!!
